Zomato
Founders: Deepinder Goyal, Pankaj Chaddah, and Gaurav Gupta

The solution was an app that digitised these paper menus and leaflets, allowing users to browse through the menus of various restaurants from the convenience of their phone.

Snapdeal received $12 million in seed funding from Nexus Venture Partners and Indo-US Venture Partners in 2011. The company is currently experiencing a sales decline. MobiKwik

MobiKwik is one of India’s most prominent SaaS startups. MobiKwik is a virtual mobile wallet that can be used at over 250,000 online and offline locations. Bipin Preet Singh and Upasana Taku, a husband-and-wife team, founded it. MobiKwik’s average transaction value is INR 700. The company claims to be growing at a consistent rate of 20% MoM, which is slightly lower than the rate observed during demonetization. Bipin invested $250,000 of his own money to start the company. MobiKwik has raised more than $115 million in six rounds of funding since then.
Hike

Hike is a messaging app that also functions as a social network. Hike Messenger was one of India’s top social media startups. Kavin Mittal created the company. Kavin Mittal received his master’s degree from Imperial College in London. Sunil Mittal, the founder and chairman of Bharti Enterprises, is his father. Hike received $7 million in seed funding from Bharti and Softbank. It received an additional $14 million in funding from the same investors. Hike has since raised more than $200 million in funding, primarily from Tiger Global, Tencent, and Foxconn.
